How to Place an Order
- All fiber processing orders are filled on a first come first serve basis. To schedule your fiber processing, email [email protected] or call 919-522-4110.
- Download, print and fill out the fiber processing work order form and submit it with your fiber. Please include one order form in each batch of fiber. A "batch" is fiber that will be processed together, the same way as one order. This order form remains with your fiber throughout the entire process.
- Make sure you list a good contact phone number and email address if possible.
- Once your fiber is skirted and (if you choose) washed, pack it into plastic bags. Use 1 bag per fleece if you wish the fleeces to be processed separately. If your fiber will be processed as one big batch, you may send multiple fleeces per bag). Don’t forget to include a work order form in each bag to be processed. Provide precise information on how you would like that bag of fiber to be processed.
- Do not seal your fleece in a plastic bag. Just loosely twist the top of the bag closed so that it can still "breathe".
- Shipping is charged not only by weight but also by dimensions. To get the best shipping deal, you can decrease the size of your package if you remove some of the air. Compress or pack down the fiber to maximize the amount of fiber in the shipping box. One way to do this is to use a vacuum hose. Be careful not to suck up your fiber. Place the vacuum hose into the bag of fiber (a sock held around the vacuum hose with a rubber band will help protect your fiber), and remove some of the air until the pack is compressed and smaller. Seal it with a rubber band or twist tie, and place it into a mailing box.
- Be sure to tape the box securely, in case your fiber expands during shipping!
- Address the box and send it to us. We look forward to receiving your fiber!
